South East Logging the result of splitting South East Forest Products into two companies; a logging operation and a pallet operation. South East Forest Products was established in the 1960’s from the farmyard of Abraham Penner, it grew to be a thriving, well diversified company focusing on logging and production of lineal length lumber. Currently in the 4th generation, South East Forest Products began operating as a family owned business. Seeking to provide work for his sons throughout the winter months, Abraham applied for a permit to log timber.Within a few successful years he was able to purchase a sawmill, planer and in the early 70’s a dry kiln to meet the increasing demands of his customers.With the downturn in the lumber market in around 2003 the company diversified and started to produce pallets and sell sawlogs to larger lumber companies, and pulp to OSB mills and paper mills. Presently located in Blumenort, Manitoba South East Logging operates Cut To Length logging equipment and supplies sawlogs to the pallet company and out of province lumber companies and also supplies poplar pulp to the OSB mills and deliver firewood to its customers.
